Step 1: Band Student Interviews
Talk with the LSE Band Directors about your involvement in music up until this point, as well as discuss any questions you may have about our programs. This portion can be either via Zoom or in person.
Step 2: Instrument Playing Demonstration (Wind players)
This portion may be video recorded and sent to the band directors or done in person when the LSE Band Staff visits your middle school.

Prepare a Chromatic Scale (1 octave minimum, 2 octaves preferred)
Prepare a selection of one of the following options:
A. Solo/small ensemble piece- something you know from a contest or other performance.
B. Etude- material from a lesson or method book or NSBA 8th Grade All State Auditions
C. Band/Orchestra- music you are preparing in class
Your selection can be around 16-32 measures in length and should reflect your current skill set. We want to hear you at your best to help set you up for success moving into high school.
